History of the Partagas Serie P No. 2
The Partagas Serie P No. 2 first emerged in 2000 and quickly became a regular addition to the famed Partagas "alphabet" series in 2005. Each Serie P No. 2 is loaded with rich tobacco from the Vuelta Abajo region, literally from plantations next door to those used by Montecristo. Partagas P2Gorgeous cigar with a dark brown wrapper and uniquely made for a torpedo. The tip is sharp and crisp like a dagger (I love how the rollers did that). The smoke is dark leather, dark earth with some smooth espresso. More complexity here than a Montecristo 2 and fairly sophisticated smoke experience. My Partagas Serie-P cigarsMy Partagas Serie-P cigars. I have tried other Cuban cigar services but no one can compare with SwissCuban cigars. I placed an order for a box of Partagas Serie-P cigars on 6/7 and to my surprise by 6/15 my Cuban cigars were at my doorstep. My cigar sticks were packed well, arrived fresh and was ready to smoke right out the box. I was able track my order online from the moment it was shipped. I love Cuban cigars and that’s why I am a repeat SwissCuban cigar customer. I followed my cigars as they left Switzerland, and I saw when they arrived in the USA. I saw when they went through US customs in NY, and I got a special notice from my local post office in Southern California when they arrived. KBIn my opinion this is a better smoke than the Monte #2. HOWEVER....... I smoked one fresh out of the box and was extremely disappointed. Appearance wise it is a fine looking smoke and well constructed. Harsh taste, almost ammonia like. I was sure I made a mistake in purchasing these. My first thought was that I would give them away to the unsuspecting friends of my college age kids (he he he!! old guys rule!). A box of 10 sat in my humidor for about 6 months or so and out of the kindness of my heart I decided I would give the Partagas #2 a second chance. Like an old girlfriend that was given a second chance this cigar made the most of it! It started at stilettos and thigh highs and worked its' way slowly up to the tight bodice I was looking for.......but enough about the old girlfriend..... I digress..... I cut the end and the pre-light draw was smooth and open. A clear indication that this stick would provide a healthy amount of smoke and taste without a lot of effort. Upon lighting, the initial third of the cigar provided a smooth white peppery taste significantly milder than my first experience with the P2. My expectations of a healthy amount of smoke was easily met as the draw was easy and smooth. The peppery taste mellowed out and became a smooth creamy, almost light carmel flavor. Not quite that sweet tho. The cigar continued to burn evenly with no need for a touch-up or relighti.ng A perfect match for the Cafe' Tequila I paired this stick with. During the final third of this stick, the creaminess subsided significantly but the smoke never became harsh or hot to the taste.
