Smoking a Montecristo 520
The foot of this cigar smells of damp earth and coffee with an easy pre-draw. Once lit, baking spices and pepper present themselves until the first third finishes with a surprisingly salty aftertaste.
The peppery, spicy flavors diminish in the middle third, with cedar and coffee becoming predominant in the lingering retrohale. The final third expands with a slightly bitter edge and a creamy mouthfeel.
Cigar Value
While the 502 features a higher price tag than most cigars from Cuba or anywhere else, the pure enjoyment of smoking a 502 is well worth the investment for a genuine cigar connoisseur.
