Smoking a Montecristo Double Edmundo
The Double Edmundo’s savory tobacco blend and larger size combine for a highly entertaining sensory escape. The complex cigar body and taste unveil secrets throughout a smoke best enjoyed without time constraints.
Appearance
The Double Edmundo is a handsome cigar covered in a dark and leathery Colorado wrapper leaf with Cuba’s famous triple cap.
Initial Impressions
The cigar’s appealing look matches the tobacco’s aromas and cold draw notes of coffee, oatmeal, chocolate, earth, and cedar
Aroma
During and after the cigar lighting process, the cigar’s initial aroma intensifies and is joined by scents of nuts, mocha, and honey, transported by thick plumes of smoke.
Body and Taste
An easy-going medium-bodied start gradually builds towards medium-full with flavors of hazelnut coffee, toasted oak, cocoa bean, pepper, leather, spice, and blackberry. A steady earthiness keeps the smoke balanced and lively throughout the experience.
Finish
The Double Edmundo’s body and taste continue to grow as it nears the end. This is a cigar you want to smoke right to the end, a journey of well over an hour. The finish is bursting with the full spectrum of flavors, a complex and satisfying finale.

Montecristo Double Edmundo Overview
With the exceptions of the pyramid shape Montecristo No. 2 and lengthy Montecristo “A”, really big cigars were mostly absent from the regular Montecristo lineup. The Robusto-size Edmundo was launched in 2004 to satisfy the demand for larger ring gauge cigars. The Petite Edmundo followed, paving the way for the longer 6.1” x 50 Double Edmundo.
Cuba’s Vuelta Abajo region of the Pinar del Rio province provides the tobacco for Montecristo Double Edmundo. The larger size means the richness and complexity of the tobaccos have more time to evolve during the smoke, making for an experience that offers more body, more taste, and just more of everything. It’s intense and not for beginners, but that’s part of the appeal to many.

This is an absolutely great cigar. The regular Edmundo is a handful of a cigar and the big brother double Edmundo is absolutely wonderful. Not easy to find and not cheap, but well worth having in the humidor.Response from store Thank you so much for your feedback!

These cigars are very tasty.......when they burn correctly. I have smoked about 8 from my box, and 4 have had issues. Most of them have simply had knots in them on the smoking end, and I was able to cut an inch or so off to remove the knot however one had no draw at all from the start and had to be thrown away. The quality of the rolling is aweful, and I'm concerned what I will find with my remaining cigars. When they burn well, the last 2 inches of them are amazing!Response from store Thanks for your feedback.
