Appearance / Construction and Feel
Sporting the iconic Cohiba band, the medium brown wrapper is topped with a triple cap and generally provides a seamless, consistent smoking experience. With little-to-no obvious veining, the cigar has a firm construction that lends a satisfying resistance to the draw.
Burn and Draw
Offering one of the best burns of any in the Cohiba collection, no touch-ups are required along the length, and the stick produces copious amounts of aromatic smoke with stable, even ash production.
Taste and Flavor
As the only brand that ferments their tobacco a third time, Cohiba cigars have a distinct and balanced flavor. The Robusto is an exemplary cigar that offers sophisticated aromas of vanilla, oak and almonds with an earthy wood scent pre-light.
How it Smokes
The first draw hits you with a blast of peppery spice, with a hint of leather and cedar in the clouds of creamy smoke. The spice subsides towards the end of the first third and melds into a blend of sweet dried fruit and roasted nuts. This evolves further, into the perfect balance of sweet and savory flavors by the end of the second third.
The final third is where the extra fermentation process really shines. Thick oily smoke gives you a bold blend of bitter cherry, cocoa, and coffee.

Young robustos tend to have a mild bitterness, while aging the cigars for around 3 years helps to develop characteristic complexity. At the time of release this was the thickest cigar in Cohiba’s lineup. It produces an intoxicating smoke packed with depth and character from the Vuelta Abajo region’s finest tobacco. Vanilla, oak, and almonds balance out the flavor palette for a delicious after-dinner drink or a complement to a dark coffee.
